Drama (D2)

Lights, Camera, Action!! Ever wanted to know what it's like to be on a film set? Have you wanted to learn the art of acting for the camera? This is your opportunity to learn the skills to become proficient at acting for the screen. Students will rehearse, make acting choices, costume / make up and shoot their scenes under lights. All under the guidance of actor / acting coach Paul Winchester. Paul has been a professional actor for 25 years + and owns / runs the Point Break Drama Acting studio in Dee Why. A series of scenes will be filmed & edited by Paul, so students have a take home show reel of their work.

Debating & Public Speaking (D3)

1-2 Debating and public speaking: In early years debating and public speaking, students will engage with the basic rules and functions of speaking confidently and applying quick logic to authentic situations. Students will learn how to formulate arguments effectively while also developing problem solving skills. Each will develop confidence, respect for others and a sense of timing and structure. 3-4 Debating and public speaking: In mid years debating and public speaking, students refine their base knowledge of each practice. Students begin presenting persuasive arguments and expanding their knowledge of current affairs and local, national and global issues. At this level, a more competitive element is introduced as students participate in debating and public speaking in formalised environments. 5-7 Debating and public speaking: Older level debating and public speaking tackles real world issues in competitive atmospheres. Students work individually and in groups to formulate logical and informed works that extend on and grapple with authentic local, national and global issues. Students also take on further roles as timekeepers, judges and rule enforcers at this level.
