IB Scholarship

GISS offers a local scholarship for the duration of the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB Years 11 and 12).

Who can apply?

Both internal and external local students with English native speaker fluency, who are currently in Year 10.

Requirements:         

  • Preferably spent at least two years in an Australian school
  • A continuous record of high academic achievements and learning success
  • Students with a high standard of spoken and written English         
  • Excellent Maths skills
  • Willingness to study in an international, multi-cultural, bilingual / multi lingual environment 
  • Personal integrity and a commitment to service learning         
  • German language knowledge is not a prerequisite.

How to apply? 

  • Complete and submit your GISS application form online. Please note that you must be enrolled to apply for a scholarship. Currently enrolled Year 10 students at GISS are exempt from this step and do not need to complete this form. 
  • Include copies of your birth certificate and passport(s). This is not required for Year 10 students currently enrolled at GISS.
  • Include copies of your last four school reports and the latest NAPLAN results.
  • What makes you worthy of a GISS scholarship, and if selected how do you intend to leave your mark within the GISS community? Write and include a personal statement outlining your interest in the IB, studying in a multicultural bilingual environment, and your goals for the future.

Applications close on the second Friday of September. We will announce the recipients of the IB Scholarship before the Spring Break. Good luck!
