During our last school holidays we invited our school community to get their ‘creative hats’ on and find clever, fun or funky ways to answer this question: What does “Sustainability in my Backyard” mean to you?

We received many very interesting entries from our students ranging from a herb garden, sculptures made out of recycled materials, video film clips on how to grow your own capsicum and even a presentation on the effect of plastic.

As a little thank you for their creative entries, Ulrike Miehle from the GISS Sustainability Group handed over our GISS Water bottle and a voucher for our GISS Kiosk.

The GISS Sustainability initiative is still hard at work, so please have a look at our next Holiday Challenge for the Winter Holidays that was inspired by Aureleo from Year 6.
