IB Scholarships

GISS is proud of supporting young people through our academic scholarships. Each year GISS offers a limited number of scholarships to students for outstanding academic potential.

GISS is dedicated to fostering academic excellence and providing students with the tools they need to succeed in a globalised world. Our scholarship program represents our ongoing commitment to supporting the next generation of leaders and learners.

Our scholarships cover tuition fees up to 50% for the entire duration of the two-year International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB Year 11 and 12).

How much does it cost to sit the ACER scholarship test?

The cost to sit an ACER Scholarship Test is $130 (inclusive of GST). Additional costs may be applicable for an applicant requiring an overseas or non-standard test centre. Phone ACER for more information on +61 3 9277 5555.

Why do I have to pay a fee to sit the scholarship test?

The application fee covers administration of the test by the Australian Council for Education Research (ACER), which is an external provider of service.

Why do you use ACER for scholarship tests?

GISS works with an independent company to manage the scholarship process and administer scholarship test papers. They are used by the majority of private schools in Sydney to assess students for scholarships.

Research has shown that ACER scholarship tests recognise and measure students’ capabilities more effectively than other methods.

What should our child bring to the test?

    Your child should bring:

    • Pens (black or blue)
    • Food and drink for the recess break

Make sure they arrive 15 minutes before the test starts. Entry for late arrivals is solely at the discretion of the test supervisor.

    What does the scholarship cover?

GISS offers partial scholarships for up to 50% of the tuition fees. Incidentals and all other expenses are charged at the usual rate. Please see our School Fees for more information.
