GISS Preschool and Primary students were able to meet Austrian-born Australian children’s book author Irena Kobald last month.

Irena Kobald read from her debut picture book 'My Two Blankets' which has won numerous awards including the 2015 Children's Book Council of Australia (CBCA) Book of the Year Award and the 2016 Territory Read Award.

The story has also been adapted to a successful play and musical in Germany and Austria.

Our GISS students were captured by the story which is based on real life events in the authors life and were fascinated by the award-winning illustrations by Freya Blackwood.
