Art

In the Art AG students are encouraged to try something new or further develop their own skills with a variety of art-making materials such as painting, drawing, film, photography, printmaking or sculpture. Students will be guided through demonstrations and tasks over the duration of the AG art course. (Language: English / German)

Creative Writing

Are you ready to follow your imagination and be inspired to create your own exciting, unique and maybe even mystical adventure? Do you find yourself bursting with ideas, but are too consumed with homework and after school activities to find a chance to put words to paper and truly express yourself? In the Creative Writing AG with Miss Polden you are given a safe, calm and encouraging space to let your creativity flow. You will have the chance to channel existing ideas and also be inspired from intriguing prompts and fellow members. Go on a journey and decide your own fate. Pick up your crayon, draw a life size door and step inside. (Language: English)

Drama

Lights, Camera, Action!! Ever wanted to know what it's like to be on a film set? Have you wanted to learn the art of acting for the camera? This is your opportunity to learn the skills to become proficient at acting for the screen. Students will rehearse, make acting choices, costume / make up and shoot their scenes under lights. All under the guidance of actor / acting coach Paul Winchester. Paul has been a professional actor for 25 years + and owns / runs the Point Break Drama Acting studio in Dee Why. A series of scenes will be filmed & edited by Paul, so students have a take home show reel of their work. (Language: English)

Dungeon & Dragons

Take the chance to play the world’s premier roleplaying game, Dungeons and Dragons! Dungeons and Dragons is a collaborative storytelling game where one person plays the narrator and supporting cast while everyone else plays a main character, in a fantasy setting. It helps improve confidence and allows your creativity to flow through your character and their actions. There’s no need for any devices. All you need is a pencil, a sheet of paper and some dice (all of which we can provide. So, join us as we shape and create this story together. (Language: English)

Musical 

The Musical AG will be working towards a theatre performance in the last week of Term 2. During the practices we will be singing, dancing, play acting and of course laughing! Come along and join in creating our performance. Once you have decided on your favourite character, we can begin learning scripts and songs and making the costumes for the show. If you love the stage, then this is the right AG for you.Please note, the performance will be published on the GISS website and social media. (Language: English / German)

Soccer

Be the best, learn from the best - this AG offers a course designed to develop the potential of every child attending. It can enhance their confidence, improve ball skills while ensuring fun and a rewarding experience in every sense. Mr Mihajlovic is the owner and head coach of Youth Soccer Academy, boasting a successful international soccer career and has had a long relationship with our school. (Language: English)

STEAM (TinkerTank)

Project based and hands-on learning for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) education to develop hard skills for future careers in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math. Additionally, problem-solving, creativity, collaboration and design thinking skills will be put to practice in a fun and engaging environment. (Language: English)

Tennis

The focus during tennis is on basic hitting techniques and rules of the game. Students will be divided into groups according to their ability. (Language: English)
