Art |
In the Art AG students are encouraged to try something new or further develop their own skills with a variety of art-making materials such as painting, drawing, film, photography, printmaking or sculpture. Creative Writing |
Are you ready to follow your imagination and be inspired to create your own exciting, unique and maybe even mystical adventure? Do you find yourself bursting with ideas, but are too consumed with homework and after school activities to find a chance to put words to paper and truly express yourself? In the Creative Writing AG with Miss Polden you are given a safe, calm and encouraging space to let your creativity flow. You will have the chance to channel existing ideas and also be inspired from intriguing prompts and fellow members. Go on a journey and decide your own fate. Pick up your crayon, draw a life size door and step inside. (Language: English)

Debating |
This AG will be an opportunity for you to hone and practise your listening skills and your persuasive planning and speaking skills.Students will conduct group debates and learn to adjudicate speeches. Students will also learn the art of public speaking and poetry recital. (Language: English)

Drama |
Lights, Camera, Action!! Ever wanted to know what it's like to be on a film set? Have you wanted to learn the art of acting for the camera? This is your opportunity to learn the skills to become proficient at acting for the screen. Students will rehearse, make acting choices, costume / make up and shoot their scenes under lights. All under the guidance of actor / acting coach Paul Winchester. Paul has been a professional actor for 25 years + and owns / runs the Point Break Drama Acting studio in Dee Why. A series of scenes will be filmed & edited by Paul, so students have a take home show reel of their work. (Language: English)

Are you creative and interested in trying out making your own costumes? In this AG, we will design, plan and make our own costumes. Maybe you will be the winner of the next Halloween parade! The instructional language of this AG is only in German in order to enhance language learning. (Language: German)

Musical |
The Musical AG will be working towards a theatre performance in the last week of Term 2. During the practices we will be singing, dancing, play acting and of course laughing! Come along and join in creating our performance. Once you have decided on your favourite character, we can begin learning scripts and songs and making the costumes for the show. If you love the stage, then this is the right AG for you.Please note, the performance will be published on the GISS website and social media. (Language: English / German)

School garden |
Our School Garden AG promotes learning with all senses. We will continue to plan, establish and care for our school garden. We will also start with some landscaping. The students will be outside, develop their gardening skills and learn to take responsibility. They will acquire skills about native plants and environmentally appropriate behaviour. Most importantly, this AG will foster a sense of enjoyment associated with plants, animals, and natural phenomena. (Language: English / German)

Sports & Fitness |
Students will be able to explore a variety of different sports and fitness activities. They will have the opportunity to find new, enjoyable sporting activities, along with gain life skills, such as teamwork and resilience, and have the chance to improve their fitness. Both drills and games will be included for sports such as basketball, indoor soccer, badminton, floorball and more. Lastly, the students will be ensured to have fun! (Language: English)

It can enhance their confidence, improve ball skills while ensuring fun and a rewarding experience in every sense. Social entrepreneurs are big thinkers, problem solvers, innovators, change agents, leaders and disruptors who pioneer solutions to make the world a better place. They do this by starting social enterprises. You can start a social enterprise in your neighbourhood by selling products and services to your friends, family and neighbours. Using the Design Thinking process, we’ll ideate a product or business idea, prototype and test it, to find our target market, create a brand and logo for advertising, pitch to investors for start-up capital, calculate our costs and work out a selling strategy.
