Welcome to the website of the German International School Sydney

Here you can find information about all of our co-educational programs,  from Preschool up to Year 12.  Since its foundation in 1989 our school has developed into a truly international school which is open to students of all nationalities and leads to the IB Diploma. In 2008 we moved to our own campus in Terrey Hills on the Northern Beaches of Sydney.

We educate our students according to the best of the German, European and Australian educational and cultural values in order to prepare them for the challenges of a fast changing global society. Therefore we place emphasis on a bilingual education in a multicultural environment.

Apart from significant cognitive benefits, the bilingual education offered at our school enables the students to express themselves with high proficiency not only in everyday conversation but also on an academic level. Our intensive  DaZ(German as a second language) programme offers children from Preschool right up to Year 3 the opportunity to learn German to a level which enables them to follow the German Curriculum with German as its primary language. Our Secondary School offers two streams from Year 7 with either German or English as the main language of instruction. These grow increasingly intertwined as they progress and eventually combine in the International Baccalaureate Programme in Years 11 and 12. This qualification can provide students with the opportunity to study at the best universities around the globe.
